Yoga-Express: Relaxation and Flexibility for the Upper Back, Shoulders & Neck in Just 15 Minutes

Hey yogis! Welcome to the Yoga-Express program for the upper back, shoulders, and neck! In this quick session, we will focus on promoting shoulder mobility, releasing tension, and creating space for a free and relaxed upper back. Let's jump right in and have fun!

We'll start in a cross-legged seat, perhaps slightly elevated on a blanket or block to align the pelvis. Close your eyes, take deep breaths to arrive in the moment. Then, raise your arms sideways and open them in various positions to mobilize the shoulders. Feel the stretch and movement in your upper body.

We'll continue with various stretching and mobilization exercises for the neck and shoulders. From side stretches to shoulder rotations, each movement aims to release tension and improve flexibility. Play with the positions of your head to intensify the stretch.

We'll also include exercises that support the shoulders' full range of motion. By creating pressure and counter-pressure between the arm and knee, we'll create space and relieve tension in the shoulders. Feel the stretch and open up to the sides as you perform the exercises.

The puppy pose at the end of the sequence will give you another opportunity to relax and relieve your shoulders. Take deep breaths and enjoy the spaciousness you feel in your upper back.
