An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 shook Lima and Callao on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:35 a.m., with the epicenter located 30 km southwest of Callao and 49 km deep, according to the IGP. The shaking caused evacuations in homes, offices, shopping centers, and the Lima Cathedral, without serious structural damage.
