A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook Lima and Callao on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:35 a.m., with its epicenter located 30 km southwest of Callao and at a depth of 49 km, according to the IGP. The tremor caused evacuations in homes, offices, shopping centers, and the Lima Cathedral, with no serious structural damage reported.
