Adley Rutschman evened the score in the eighth with an opposite-field single off Devin Williams, setting the stage for late-game drama.

The decisive moment came in the home half of the eighth. Bobby Witt Jr. reached on an infield single, stole second, and raced home on a sharp line-drive double from Freddie Freeman that one-hopped the wall in left. Josh Hader then entered to lock down the ninth, striking out Yordan Alvarez with a wicked slider and inducing a game-ending double play from Corey Seager to secure the NL’s first back-to-back All-Star victories since 2012.

Freeman earned MVP honors for his game-winning knock and flawless defense at first base. In total, the 2025 MLB All-Star Game featured four home runs, 22 combined strikeouts, and several highlight-reel plays that underscored the sport’s blend of power, speed, and athleticism. The night not only delighted fans in Atlanta but also cemented the event as a showcase of baseball’s brightest talents heading into the season’s second half.
