Emergency services are working tirelessly to secure the town center with sandbags and concrete walls as water levels continue to rise.

The situation is also escalating in the city of Zwettl, Austria. The city is just centimeters away from the main streets in the downtown area. A dramatic firefighting operation was required to rescue a driver trapped by the floodwaters. Every second counted in this intense rescue effort.

The flooding in Zwettl is already classified as a 50-year event. Bridges are impassable, access roads are blocked, and some homes are already underwater. It seems only a matter of time before the situation worsens dramatically during the night.
