Inter Miami CF prevailed 3–1 over Nashville SC in an entertaining MLS encounter, strengthening their grip on first place in the Eastern Conference. The visitors from Tennessee started brightly: ten minutes in, Hany Mukhtar pounced on a rebound in the box and fired a low shot past Drake Callender to put Nashville ahead. Miami were briefly rattled but soon took control, with Sergio Busquets dictating the tempo in midfield while Jordi Alba and Julian Gressel repeatedly overloaded the flanks.

After half an hour Lionel Messi equalised from the penalty spot following a handball by Walker Zimmerman that VAR confirmed. The captain converted coolly, notching his tenth goal of the season. Just before the break Luis Suárez completed the turnaround: played through by Diego Gómez, the Uruguayan rounded goalkeeper Joe Willis and slotted home for a 2–1 lead.

Inter Miami kept pressing after the interval. An elegant move involving Busquets, Alba and Messi first struck the post, but in the 70th minute Nashville’s defence was helpless again: Messi exchanged a one-two with Suárez at the edge of the area and drove a low shot into the far corner—his fifth straight match with a brace. Nashville threw everything forward in the closing stages, yet were denied by Callender or their own lack of precision.

Head coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino could celebrate three valuable points and another stellar performance from his Messi–Suárez duo. For Nashville SC, the loss was a setback after recent road wins; Gary Smith must particularly address his team’s finishing. Inter Miami now head into their next top-of-the-table showdown full of confidence, while Nashville will try to avoid losing ground in the playoff race
