A dejected Rory McIlroy left after witnessing Bryson DeChambeau secure the 2024 US Open title on a TV in the clubhouse. McIlroy had lost a two-shot lead towards the end, and saw DeChambeau clinch the victory with an incredible up-and-down on the 18th hole. Following DeChambeau's win, McIlroy skipped talking to reporters and headed straight to the Pinehurst car park. This defeat marked the continuation of McIlroy's 10-year major title drought.
