This video has been trending in France

The video opens on the esplanade of Parc Borély, the traditional stage for La Marseillaise à pétanque. The commentators introduce the 4th-round match of the 2025 edition: Dylan Rocher’s triplette, teamed with Henri Lacroix and Stéphane Robineau, is taking on the surprise trio led by Clément Cohas, backed by Johan Rivière and Thibault Mouries. Even before the first end, the atmosphere is electric: the temporary stands are overflowing, fans pound out “Allez Rocher!” while the Cohas camp reminds everyone it knocked out two seeded teams in the previous round.

The first three ends live up to the hype. Lacroix, pointing, exploits the slightly crowned terrain to nestle two boules within thirty centimetres of the jack. Cohas answers with a clean hit, then Rivière fires a carreau that draws loud applause. After fifteen minutes the teams are tied 4–4; each end is a precision duel between Robineau and Mouries, who keep trying to glue their boules to the jack despite a light mistral.

The match swings in the fifth end. In a tricky spot, Dylan Rocher strings together three successful shots, including a spectacular back-spin hit that clears the house and gives his side a four-point break: 8–4. Cohas refuses to fold. In the next end he opts for an aggressive tactic, shoots first and shifts the jack to ten metres. The gamble pays off at first (8–7), but fatigue creeps in: a missed “palet” by Rivière leaves only one scoring boule, and Rocher nails another double on the shooting lane.

Down the stretch, Robineau locks down the point, while Lacroix finishes the job with two razor-sharp raffles. The Rocher triplette closes it out 13–7 after just over an hour of play. The closing shots show handshakes, the tight smiles in the Cohas camp and Rocher’s calm confidence, already focused on the 5th round. The camera lingers on the scoreboard: the favourites have confirmed their status, but Cohas’s bold performance is a reminder that in this 2025 Marseillaise à pétanque, any end can tip the legend
