On the TV show “Fantástico,” Ruth Moreira said she was surprised by the court decision that granted sole custody of Léo to his father, singer Murilo Huff. She explained that since Marília Mendonça’s death she had shared custody and actively helped raise her grandson, maintaining a daily care routine. According to Ruth, the measure did not arise from a family conflict but from a petition filed by Murilo, who argued that the boy needs stability and a permanent home in Goiânia, where he already attends school and receives educational support.

Marília’s mother admitted feeling “double pain”: the unending longing for her daughter and the sense of losing full-time contact with Léo. Even so, she said she accepts the ruling to avoid prolonging the legal process and to ensure peace for the child. Ruth stressed that she does not intend to distance herself from her grandson—she plans to keep regular visits, weekends, and holidays—and said she trusts Murilo’s care, calling him an “excellent father” and a parenting partner since Léo was born.

During the interview, Ruth dismissed rumors of an inheritance dispute. She said Marília’s estate proceedings are well under way, that all parties agree with the legal division, and that her priority is preserving the singer’s memory. The grandmother added that Marília’s son will inherit the artist’s entire estate and that this should not affect anyone’s emotional bond with the child.

Finally, Ruth Moreira revealed that she continues therapy to cope with grief, emphasized the importance of a loving and stable environment for Léo, and asked people to respect the court’s decision. She concluded that her greatest commitment is to keep Marília Mendonça’s legacy alive and to ensure her grandson grows up surrounded by affection, remembering his mother as a talented artist and a generous woman
