Tensions ran high on Wednesday (September 4) during the quad-committee hearing at the House of Representatives, as a lawmaker publicly criticized Cassandra Ong for her perceived 'attitude' in responding to queries from congressmen.

Ong was under scrutiny for being the self-confessed authorized representative of Lucky South 99 while simultaneously denying any involvement in its illegal POGO activities.

Aside from her reluctance to answer certain questions, Ong irritated House members by frequently interrupting them. Zia Alonto Adiong, the Representative of Lanao del Sur 1st District, was notably exasperated by Ong and reprimanded her for trying to be cute.

'We cannot tolerate this behavior from Ms. Ong. Allow the members to finish their question, okay? You're trying to be cute, right!' Adiong remarked.

'No, I apologize,' replied Ong.

Despite repeated exchanges with congressmen regarding her direct association with Lucky South 99, Ong reiterated that she is not part of its POGO activities, although she acknowledged being the 'authorized representative' in its dealings with PAGCOR.
