Dua Lipa visited the Tiny Desk on October 25, 2024, with much anticipation following the massive success of her previous Tiny Desk (home) concert in 2020. Her 2020 performance still holds the record for the most-viewed Tiny Desk concert ever, surpassing artists like Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak with 130 million views.

Returning four years later, Dua Lipa showcased four songs from her album Radical Optimism. The album stood out with its positive and optimistic themes, offering a refreshing perspective on relationships, love, and personal growth. The hit track “Houdini” added to Lipa’s collection of chart-topping songs like “New Rules,” “Levitating,” and “Don’t Start Now.”

During her time at NPR Music, Dua Lipa and her team impressed with their professionalism and warmth. Their joyful demeanor and camaraderie translated well on camera, presenting a memorable and enjoyable performance. The setlist included “Training Season,” “These Walls,” “Happy for You,” and “Houdini.”

The talented musicians accompanying Dua Lipa were Matthew Carroll on bass, Adam “Smiley” Wade on drums, Alex Lanyon on guitar, Georgie Ward on keys, Ciara O’Connor and Naomi Scarlett on vocals, and Sophie Galpin on glockenspiel and vocals.

The Tiny Desk team, led by producers Bobby Carter and Stephen Thompson, brought the performance to life with director Kara Frame, audio technical director Josh Newell, and the rest of the NPR Music crew.

Overall, Dua Lipa’s Tiny Desk concert was a bright spot in a year filled with challenges, showcasing the power of uplifting music when it is most needed
