The narrator of the video starts by explaining that they took a second job closing a small, independently owned café whose business model relied on staying open until midnight for students and late-night workers. Regular staff avoided the last shift because the century-old building had a reputation for being haunted, but the narrator, needing extra income, brushed off the rumors and agreed to work alone three nights a week.

Early shifts felt normal, yet small oddities appeared almost immediately. Clean mugs left to dry would be stacked in strange patterns, the espresso machine turned itself on when no one was near it, and the scent of strong, fresh coffee sometimes drifted through the room even when all the equipment was off. Footsteps echoed upstairs after closing, even though the upper floor had been converted to storage and was kept locked. Reviewing security footage with the owner, the narrator noticed brief, shadow-like distortions that couldn’t be explained by glare or passing cars.

Within a few weeks, the incidents escalated. A chalkboard menu flew off its hook and shattered, bags of beans were slashed open overnight, and the walk-in refrigerator door slammed shut by itself while the narrator was stocking milk. On one especially quiet night, every light in the seating area died simultaneously, but the bulbs turned back on the moment the narrator stepped out from behind the counter. Customers who lingered late also reported feeling suddenly cold or watching a figure in old-fashioned clothes glide past the hallway to the bathrooms.

Determined to understand what was happening, the narrator researched the building’s history and discovered that it had been a boardinghouse in the 1920s. A waitress named Eleanor is said to have died in an accidental kitchen fire, and local folklore claims she still roams the property searching for the coworkers who failed to save her. After learning this story, the narrator experienced the most frightening event yet: while counting the cash drawer, they looked up to see a woman in a soot-stained apron reflected behind them in the glass pastry case. When they spun around, the café was empty—except for the unmistakable smell of smoke and burnt sugar.

The final straw came a week later when every mug on the drying rack hurled itself to the floor at once, loudly shattering across the tiles. Shaking and near tears, the narrator locked the doors, left a resignation note for the owner, and never worked another night shift there again. They conclude the video advising viewers that extra pay is rarely worth risking a confrontation with whatever still lingers in that haunted café at night.
