From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, and starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, “A Minecraft Movie”, directed by Jared Hess, is the first live-action, big-screen adaptation of Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time.

The movie also features performances by Emma Myers (“Wednesday”), Oscar-nominated Danielle Brooks (“The Color Purple”), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (“Just Mercy”, “Lisey’s Story”), and Jennifer Coolidge.

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity not only helps you create, it's essential for survival! Four misfits - Garrett “Trash Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks) - find themselves grappling with everyday problems when they are suddenly transported through a mysterious portal to the Overworld: a strange, square land thriving on imagination. To make it back home, they must master this world (and also protect it from malevolent forces like Piglins and Zombies) as they embark on a magical adventure with an unexpected and skilled crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their journey will challenge the five to be brave and reconnect with the qualities that make each of them creatively unique - the same skills they need to thrive again in the real world.

Oscar-nominated director Hess (“Ninety-Five Senses”, “Nacho Libre”) helmed the film, with Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson, and Vu Bui as producers, and Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, and Anthony Tittanegro as executive producers.

The creative team behind the camera includes BAFTA-nominated cinematographer Enrique Chediak (“127 Hours”, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”), Oscar-winning production designer Grant Major (“The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King', “The Meg”), editor James Thomas (“Pokémon: Detective Pikachu”, “Borat” films), Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon (“The Jungle Book”, “The Batman”), and costume designer Amanda Neale (“The Meg”, “What We Do in the Shadows”). Rachel Tenner is in charge of casting. Music supervisors are Gabe Hilfer and Karyn Rachtman, with music by Mark Mothersbaugh (“Thor: Ragnarok”, “LEGO®” movies).

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present a Vertigo Entertainment/On The Roam/Mojäng Aktiebolag production, a Jared Hess film, “A Minecraft Movie”. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures globally and by Legendary East in China, and will premiere exclusively in Latin American theaters starting April 3, 2025
